MinistroMinister Delegate to the Minister of the Interior

Les Républicains (LR); previously member of Soyons libres / Libres! (2019), UMP until 2015 · Francia

Profilo redatto in inglese

Jean-Didier Berger, born 23 January 1980, is a French politician of Les Republicains (LR). A graduate of Sciences Po Bordeaux, he began his career in local public development, working with Philippe Pemezec at Le Plessis-Robinson and directing the local mixed-economy development company SEMPRO. A municipal councillor of Clamart (Hauts-de-Seine) since 2008, he was elected Mayor of Clamart in 2014 and re-elected in 2020, serving until early 2025, and presided over the Vallee Sud-Grand Paris territorial public establishment from 2016 to 2025. He was a regional councillor of Ile-de-France from 2010 to 2015, vice-president (later first vice-president since 2021) of the Ile-de-France region under Valerie Pecresse, and vice-president of the Hauts-de-Seine departmental council (2015-2021). He was elected member of the National Assembly for Hauts-de-Seine's 12th constituency in the 2024 legislative elections, succeeding Jean-Louis Bourlanges. On 26 February 2026 he was appointed Minister-Delegate to the Minister of the Interior in the third government of Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu, a move LR denounced as 'poaching' and which triggered an internal party disciplinary procedure. Note: this profile found no evidence in official sources (European Parliament, Assemblee nationale, government records) that Berger held a European Parliament (MEP) mandate; his elected national mandate is in the French National Assembly.
